Onyx is DNA tested to be homozygous for the black gene.  He is a successful show horse, a multi-Champion,  Champion sire and is a producer of International Champions, too!  Onyx is a Sweepstakes nominated sire. 

Onyx's sire is the world renown straight Egyptian stallion Thee Desperado.  Thee Desperado had an illustrious show career but now has proven his value as a sire of Champions worldwide.  You can view a Photo of the multi-Champion Thee Desperado.

Onyx's dam is the Polish mare Shakirra who is a Regional Top 5 Halter winner and a dam of Champions.  She is a Bey Shah daughter who is out of the National Top Ten mare Sierra Baskita who is by Port Bask.  You can view a Photo of Onyx's halter winning dam.

Thee Onyx is the result of a straight Egyptian sire and a Polish dam, giving him the best of both worlds.  He is a unique individual from two of the most sought after bloodlines today - Thee Desperado and Bey Shah. Onyx is a outstanding individual, with a world class pedigree.  He has extreme type with the added bonus of presence and movement.  He has a wonderful personality and temperament.   Many of his admirers are surprised to learn that Onyx is broke to ride Western Pleasure (he was well trained by a Dressage rider/trainer and could easily compete at a high level) and has even enjoyed cutting some cattle in his younger days!
